Great for the inexperienced grower, pileas have over 600 varieties to choose from. Ranging from circular dark green leaves to serrated variegated foliage. There is sure to be something for everyone!

Light

Pileas thrive in medium to bright, indirect light. Rotate you plant weekly to keep it looking symmetrical. Avoid locations that receive direct light as it will burn the leaves.

Soil

A well draining potting mix that is peat based is best. Add perlite to the soil for added drainage to ensure soil does not become water logged.

Water

Allow your pilea plant to nearly dry out between watering. The leaves will begin to droop when it dries out, which is a tell tale sign that it’s time for watering.

Fertilizer

Once a month fertilize your pilea plants with a balanced all purpose fertilizer in spring and summer months. Do not fertilize fall and winter as the plant has gone dormant.

Growth

Pileas are prolific growers. Some varieties produce off shoots which you can separate to create more plants. Growing 12″ tall and 8-12″wide.

Pet Friendly? Pileas are non toxic.
